The Learning and Skills Academy CIC is a community focused organisation based in Northamptonshire that aims to provide real opportunities for people to gain the skills they want, the self-belief they are looking for and the employment opportunities they deserve.
We strive to create a better community for all and do this by working with a range of organisations to access and deliver a number of community based, commercially focused activities
Our Mission
Our society is facing many challenges and people are getting lost along the way. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to develop and grow as a person so that they can find the career and future they are looking for.
The Learning and Skills Academy CIC was founded in 2019 as a route for those in need and a place to come to find out what help and support may be available so that they find employment and a "sense of purpose"
Our Board
The members of our board of directors are leaders who wish to make a significant contribution to our society. Each of them brings a unique set of skills and experience to our organisation.
Tony Knaggs
With over 20 years managing programmes that help people gain the skills, opportunities and pathways they need to grow and develop, Tony brings a wide range of expertise to the Academy, from an array of knowledge of funding streams through to working with stakeholders, Social Enterprises and employers across the region. Tony is also a Trustee of a Charitable Incorporated Organisation and a Director of two other Community Interest Companies.
Amanda Knaggs
Amanda has over 20 years engaging with people across our society who have been victims of crime. This knowledge of people, their challenges, their problems and how we can help gives the Academy a unique insight in its understanding of programme needs that can really help people and our society as a whole.
