 We are able to offer a limited number of people who live in Northamptonshire a sector based training programme fully funded by The European Social Fund (ESF) and the Department Of Education and Skills Agency (ESFA) through SEMLEP – the programme includes industry recognised qualifications. No previous experience within the construction sector is necessary – all we ask for is commitment to complete the programme.

Please note: The programme is flexible and runs over a three to four week period – you MUST COMPLETE ALL PARTS – including attendance at venues for 1 day training and test(s)

Programme Details Include:

Initial Induction meeting (virtual) – start of the programme
1:1 online support with qualified trainer/tutor
Online access to approved CITB materials
Health and Safety Level 1 Training and Test (CLASSROOM)
Access to online learning modules (e.g. asbestos awareness, working in confined spaces, slips trips & falls etc)
Access to online CSCS touch screen practice tests
Links and support to local employers
Registration with local Construction sector agencies
Job search and other support as needed
Costs for travel to/from course (only for JCP customers)

Programme Details:


 The offer is open to anyone who:

  • Is 18 Years old and over
  • Is registered with the Job Centre and has been unemployed for at least 3 months – this includes those on Universal Credit and those not WORKING but NOT claiming benefits
  • Can prove you have the right to work in the UK, have a National Insurance Number & can read and speak English
  • Has valid Photo ID - if you do not have this help will be provided during the programme

PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO CURRENT COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS YOU MUST HAVE ACCESS TO THE INTERNET (preferably a laptop/desktop) AS SEVERAL PARTS OF THE PROGRAMME CAN ONLY BE COMPLETED ONLINE

NEXT WELLINGBOROUGH PROGRAMME:

  • Monday 6th July - online Induction and COVID guidelines (time to be confirmed)
  • (times/dates as agreed with tutor) - online 1 to 1 session and online access to Site Safety Plus support training 
  • Week of MONDAY 13TH July BUT date to be confirmed by tutor Site Safety Plus training (inc. COVID-19 guidelines) – at Hemmingwell Community and Skills Centre, 127 Nest farm Crescent NN8 4TU
  • 14th July onwards - Online 1:1 tutor support and access to CSCS Touch screen practice tests
  • CSCS Green Card touch screen test (times depending on slots at centre) w/c 27th July
